Traditional metal braces are, by far, the most "tried and true" treatment approach. A brace, which is known as an orthodontic bracket, is individually bonded to the front of each tooth. Braces allow for highly controllable and accurate tooth movement. Braces have come a long way, as they are now smaller, more efficient and more comfortable than their predecessors. Space-age material and sophisticated techniques have kept this approach as a favored treatment option. Braces can be constructed with metal, clear plastic, or ceramic materials. Tooth colored wires are even available to make braces less noticeable.
